The problem
Utopia are a Music FinTech with teams situated in London, Berlin, Stockholm Helsinki, LA and New York. Following $300M in funding, they went on an aggressive M&A journey which saw them acquire 15 businesses within 12 months. One of the acquired companies, ROSTR, was an LA-based company with a small engineering capability, but ambitious engineering plans. Due to their inability to scale teams quickly and the need to secure expert app-building knowledge, G&F were engaged by Utopia to own the design and delivery of a brand new app and UI for their core artist product. With ROSTR being based in LA, but with Utopia's core team being split between Sweden, Germany and Switzerland, we built the team from the UK to utilise our rich associate network
